Knitting in New Zealand from yarn of this quality has never been inexpensive, and when we took over Benmore in April, our prices had not changed in several years. We wanted to hold them there for as long as we could. The cost of making each piece went up in our second week, and we have kept our prices unchanged for more than six months since. More recently, the price of our yarn has risen too, and we are no longer able to hold our prices where they are.

From 1 November 2026, our cardigans and vests will increase by $10 and our accessories by $6. The Basketweave Bassinet Blanket will rise from $189 to $219, more than anything else in the range, because it takes a great deal of yarn to knit and its price had fallen furthest behind. Our current prices will stay in place until then, if there is something you have had your eye on.

We know this is difficult, and we understand what a price increase means. With costs continuing to escalate, the alternative would have been to make changes we were not willing to make. We want to keep making these pieces here, so that premium New Zealand-made knitwear for children remains an option.

Nothing about how our pieces are made is changing. We are using the same yarn, working with the same knitters in Otago, and taking the same care over every piece.
